Two Poems

Scream

What takes the
form but can’t hold it,

the teeth of a
scream.

Have you ever
really screamed?

The cracking of
lines in the face

Scream
to make hairline
clefts in block of
blood.

Frozen red fluid solid.

How many times
can I say it?

Red
fluid
solid,
peel.

Peel
what you were,
were becoming,
are.

How many times
can I say it?

Easy as a mustard
seed popped between
the teeth.

Scream.

“Everything is permitted”

sort of thing.
I know of
the ways to
improve:
quit smoking
pay taxes on time.

Solve maze of
bad habits all clumped
and tangled.
like ear
bud cords
and a/v
chords and
mini usb
cords.

And
and
to
cut them would
solve the
tangle problem
but not
the problem problem.

Like hammering
frozen roses
against an anvil
to get the
ice out.

a stone
to skip:
I’m looking
for the meaning
of life by
trying to
read
words on the
backside of the
notebook paper.
ink bleeds
through, everything
backwards, inside
out.
